For over 50 years, our family-orientated dental practice has been serving the Parkes, Forbes & Condobolin communities. Until 2015, we went by the name of Richardson Dental. After untimely passing of Dr.Mike Richardson, his associate Dr Khazima Riaz (Dentist) managed the business and renovated our entire facility.
While we may have a new name, we’re continuing the same tradition of prevention-focused, comfortable dentistry for people of all ages.

Just like the atmosphere of our small country town, Riaz Dental Parkes offers a warm and inviting experience to each of our patients. We serve the oral health needs of everyone from young children to retirees, we aim to educate individuals on how to better care for their teeth, so they can retain them for as long as possible.

If you should require any treatment, our dentist and friendly staff will discuss our findings and recommendations with you. We will explain all your options, and how much each option will cost before we begin treatment. It’s no surprise so many of the clients who we care for are second or third generation patients of our practice.

Dr Khazima Riaz wanted to be a dentist for as long as she can remember … even as a young child. “My dentist was lovely; that was a big reason why,” she says.
In dental school, she thoroughly enjoyed seeing what a huge difference her skills could make for people who were self-conscious about their smile and appearance. Then in 2004, she completed her Bachelor of Dentistry at the University of Sydney. In her final year she won the Oral B Foundation prize for outstanding clinical competencies.
The Best Part About Being a Dentist
The impact of making a difference on her patients’ overall health is something that Dr Riaz finds highly rewarding. She says the best part about being a family dentist is the opportunity it gives her to meet different people each day. “I learn so much from talking to my patients … interacting with people and learning about them.”
She also enjoys improving the function and aesthetics of teeth. As a member of the Australian Dental Association and peer organisations such as the Western Division Study Group, she continues to stay active in furthering her professional education.
A Busy Mum and Foodie
When Dr Riaz isn’t working, she enjoys gardening and eating (but not cooking) and is a self-proclaimed foodie. However, her most important role is that of a mother. Her husband (a local GP) and two young boys love sports and the outdoors. They spend a lot of their free time watching and participating in sports.
